Fredericksburg, VA, -- The wind howled and the temperatures hovered in the low 30's when the Columbia golf team teed off in the American University Invitational today, but Nicolas Prost didn't seem to mind.

Nicolas Prost, a Columbia first-year who lives in Switzerland, probably felt right at home on the icy fairways of The Gauntlet, a golf club in Fredericksburg, VA. Despite the conditions, he shot a 78 to lead the Lions and place him second in the tourney, just one behind the leader. Senior Omer Salamat followed right behind, third with an 81.

American U., the host school, led the tourney with a 327, with Columbia second at 330. St. Bonaventure, another school accustomed to frigid temperatures -- the Bonnies are located near Buffalo -- was third with 332, followed by Duquesne, 338, and Wagner, 339. The tournament concludes on Tuesday.
